TED talks: ideas worth sharing (What´s yours?) (4ºA)

Remember Chimamanda´s talk? It was a TED Talk. Now you have to prepare one on your own (free topic, the only condition is that you have to be controversial and speak for 4-5 minutes). Pick one topic you feel strongly about! Check unit 5H in the Solutions handbook, with tips on how to write an opinion essay and a sample (your presentation must be based on an opinion or for/against essay).  Below there are links with more help:

-Some TED talks with good advice on precisely how to make good presentations.

-No idea what you would want to speak about? Try this website with lots of possible topics (if you click on the topic you´ll find suggestions on how to approach it). Remember it must be something you are really interested in.

Here you are Adichie´s talk, remember it´s exactly the same as the text ("We should all be feminists") in the literacy booklet. Remember  you have to prepare the 2 first sets of questions about the speech for this Friday.

Here you are the planning for the Literary Circles about How I Live Now. As usual, you must bring the LC worksheet  about the assigned chapters those days to be able to participate. 

December 10: chapters 1-6 (Literary workshop: you don´t have to bring the LC worksheet done but you are supposed to bring the summary if you want to take part).

Below you can find a list with the Literary circles dates (on Wednesdays 3ºC, Fridays 3ºA/B that is, the days we have been working with Global Classrooms). That day you have to hand in the Literary Circle worksheet of the story/stories whose LC is scheduled for that day (except for the first LC) if you want to participate in it. The Literary Circle worksheet this year is a bit different from 2º ESO, have a look HERE at some instructions on how to do it. I recommend reading the introduction by the author to each story, but the LC (and the LC worksheet) will only deal with the story itself.
