You did it again...

Like last year, ten of our students of 3º ESO have passed to the final round of Global Classrooms (in the pictures they are at the Asamblea de Madrid during the Opening Ceremony). You have been an uplifting example of engagement, hard work and deliverance. Together with the rest of the students in 3º, who have supported this project so enthusiastically, you have made this thrilling experience possible. Thank you all.

A. In  "60 seconds Shakespeare" (with summaries of William Shakespeare´s plays in tabloid format), you will find the answers to these questions:

What are the differences between this version of the tale and the one you read?

Harry Kloor and Rayna Ismail at LGB

Harry Kloor and Rayna Ismail are in Madrid invited by the American Embassy. We are extremely lucky to have them in our school for a lecture on Tuesday at 13.00.  

As I told you Dr Kloor is a scientist, writer, film producer and director who has taken part in four episodes of Star Trek:Voyager. In 1994 he became the first person to achieve two simultaneous PhDs in Chemistry and Physics. He has also been adviser to several companies including the NASA. He has even got an entry in Wikipedia! (ckeck it out here).

Rayna Ismail  is an educator, industrial engineer, actress and film producer. She was born in India and has worked in Boeing (she took part in the design of the Boeing 777). She has been involved in the film industry for 11 years.

They´ll talk about their jobs and experiences and will be ready to answer questions, so start preparing yours!

Four fantastic days that we´ll never forget

Yes, we couldn´t really have asked for more: there has been time for everything thanks to the thrilling schedule (from 9 am to 11 pm!) designed by the amazing Diverbo team. It´s been a pleasure to witness the hard work, the teamwork and the engagement of our students who have come up with jaw-dropping presentations and activities. As I told you there, both Graham and I are extremely proud of you all!

So these are the assignments to be handed in/corrected starting on November 17:

-Student´s book: p.27 ("Portfolio 3"), exercises a, b and c. (the exercise c is a composition to be handed in on a separate paper on Monday Nov 17. Write no less than 200 words. Students who take part in the immersion activity can hand in the composition later (until Wednesday 19).
-Student´s book: p.28 ("Growing up in multi-racial Canada") , p.29 exercises 1 a, b, c. For Monday 17
-Workbook: p.19 (ex.3 a,b), p.20 (in full): for Tuesday 18.
-The Canterbury Tales "pack" I gave you yesterday must be done in full for Wednesday 19.
-Don´t forget to read Skellig! You´ll have an exam about the first 14 chapters soon.
-The other exams are coming soon too...
